Recommended Maintenance and type of oil & oil levels

Shelbourne Reynolds recommends using Mobil Oil, fully synthetic 75/90w. Gearbox Oil should be replaced annually, preferably at the beginning of harvest.  New machines should have the gearbox oil replaced after the first 20 hours of use.

CX/RX Heads:

Grease the PTO cross joints at 10 hour intervals. Grease the rotor end bearings, centre ball coupling, crop deflector arm bushes & top hood bushes every 50 hours.

Recommended Grease Specifications for Drive: (high temp synthetic grease)

• JD Extreme-duty synthetic grease TY25744.
• Case IH SSL synthetic grease B505709.

 

Seasonal Maintenance:

Clean machine, remove auger inspection covers & clean out, check auger finger wear, check seals on gearbox, check auger clutch, sprockets & chains, remove panel from rotor & clean out inside rotor, check shafts & rotor bearings for wear.

Grease the PTO cross joints & the front & rear pulley sheaves at 10 hour intervals, after greasing the pulley sheaves run the variable speed from its slowest speed to its fastest speed to prevent pulleys from sticking. Grease the rotor end bearings, centre ball coupling, LH end ball coupling, crop deflector arm bushes & top hood bushes every 50 hours.
