Relay for Life 2012

28th May 2012

Shelbourne Reynolds is again taking part in the Cancer Research Relay for Life.  Once again it will be held  in the beautiful parkland of the National Trust’s Ickworth Estate, on the 23rd June.

The Relay for Life is where members of each team take turns walking the track for 21 hours! From our last participation in 2010, we know that this will be a great event with a festival like atmosphere and a great team building exercise as well!

In the lead up to the Relay each team fundraises as much as possible.  If you would like to help the team please donate at the following link: )

Fundraising events so far have included, Cake Sales (extremely popular!), Quiz Nights, Football Score prediction competition, to name just a few…

Our recent Quiz night raised an amazing £340 and featured a team from almost every department, a good turnout and really great night out!!

On the day, each team continues its fundraising by having a stall at the team pitch. Ours will be ‘Race the Frog’ and a Raffle. There is also plenty of entertainment with live music from local bands, dance teams etc. The relay features themed laps where we have to dress up in various outfits, some of which this year are topical with the Olympics and the Jubilee. A crazy sight but really good fun.

The Shelbourne team theme this year is to wear anything PURPLE which is our way of raising awareness of and supporting the research into Pancreatic Cancer.  This has a special place in all our hearts at Shelbourne Reynolds.  This is the Team’s tribute to our very dear friend and colleague Jayne Worley who was recently diagnosed.  Jayne has worked for Shelbourne Reynolds since leaving school back in 1976. Many of our customers and suppliers will know her from her role in Accounts.  A hugely popular member of staff, who is loved by us all!

If you are able to support us on the day, we would truly love to see you.  So come and join us on the 23rd June for a drink with Team Shelbourne or alternatively donate online at the link shown above.  Anything you can give would be very much appreciated.

Thank you!
