Field Service Engineer

The Role:

Shelbourne Reynolds designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of agricultural machinery for both the UK and overseas. Much of the company’s success can be attributed to the high levels of product support provided to both dealers and customers. As the company continues to grow we are looking to continue this policy. All of the products are designed and manufactured at our Stanton, Suffolk factory and although you may often be working alone on site you are very much part of a team where support and accountability are key.

Duties to include:

  • Provide first class technical support to customers, assuming responsibility for resolving all issues in a professional manner.
  • Performing “in field” product updates/service repair/ warranty work.
  • Providing support to the service manager during times of overload or absence.
  • Producing weekly visit reports, customer details etc.
  • To assist with machine demonstrations when required.
  • To liaise between the design office and customers with reference to monitoring the performance of new designs in the field.  This would involve visiting machines with specific performance or service problems and communicating back these problems to the office.  Then following up on this feedback by going back and fitting and testing modified parts.
  • To service and repair contract hire machines when required.
  • To assist with field support in export markets when required.
  • This position will often involve working away approx. 3 nights (average) per week.

Skills and Attributes:

  • A mechanical, hydraulic or electrical engineering qualification.
  • Previous field service experience or assembly experience with Shelbourne or similar products.
  • Self-motivated and hard working.
  • Able to communicate effectively and positively with customers.
  • A full UK driving license.

CAD Technician/Illustrator 

The Role:

This entry level position offers the opportunity to work within the Stanton, Suffolk based Technical Design team offering assistance to the team and taking responsibility for the creation of technical illustrations and manuals for internal and external customers.

Shelbourne Reynolds designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of agricultural machinery for both the UK and overseas. This position offers the opportunity to join a group of experienced Design Engineers. You will be involved in some exciting business process developments as the company looks to continue its growth through new technology and software.


Duties to include:

  • Maintaining and developing new parts manuals.
  • Updating and maintaining the Company’s product configurator within its manufacturing software.
  • Translating CAD drawings into graphics for in-house applications.
  • Updating and maintaining parts manuals on the company website.
  • Supporting the Design team with CAD detailing.
  • Playing a leading role in developing interactive manuals for the dealer portal area of a new website


Skills and Attributes:

  • Either relevant experience or qualification within a Design or Engineering subject.
  • Strong IT skills and ideally experience with Solidworks, Adobe InDesign , Photoshop and MS office suite.
  • Previous experience of producing operators / parts manuals and guides would be beneficial but is not essential as training will be given
  • A highly motivated individual able to demonstrate an astute attention to detail along with having a logical approach to work is a must.
  • Some Mechanical Assembly understanding may be helpful but not essential.

Production Planner 

The Role

The successful applicant will have experience in  production planning within a computerised planning system, focused around optimising efficiencies and performance in a manufacturing environment. You will need a working knowledge from an engineering point of view of medium to heavy process machinery and your background will be in supervising of individuals and processes utilising statistical analysis and modern manufacturing techniques.

Your role will be crucial in the management and continuous improvement of this in depth manufacturing process; therefore you will have regular interaction between all levels from manufacturing shop floor to director. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing company, which will lead to excellent career benefits and good technological development.

Duties of the Production Planner:

  • Monitors backlog problems, work order flow, and bottleneck problems.
  • Maintains time and attendance system and production records to analyse departmental production performance.
  • Experienced in using an integrated ERP system, MRP, inventory management, cycle counting, and works order management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good human relations skills.
  • Liaise with production team leaders to maintain schedule status and resolve delivery date queries

The Candidate:

  • Current working or has worked in a planning role within an SME
  • Wants to join a company that you can make a genuine difference in
  • Analytical, good attention to detail
  • Confident to communicate clearly with all interfaces
  • Can work on own initiative

Required Qualification Level: 

The candidate will need to have A-Level grades and be computer literate (competent with the MS Windows, Office environments) with good communication skills - a quick learner, flexible & adaptable and an ‘eye for detail’.  Experienced in Manufacturing systems or have a degree or other relevant qualification such as ONC/HNC or equivalent in mechanical, production engineering.

We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator with a background in agricultural machinery to join our team

Job Requirements:

  • MIG welding
  • TIG welding - useful but not essential
  • Welding mild steel & stainless steel
  • Welding steel of varying thickness from 1mm to 12mm
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings
  • You will have your own transport due to where the company is based


Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm.                                                                 

Friday 8.00am to 3.30 pm

There will be a ½ hour lunch break 12.30 to 1.00pm

The working pattern may vary to meet business requirements, and applicants need to remain flexible to this fact. You will however be given at least one weeks’ notice of any changes. The shift patterns that may need to be adopted are as follows:-

Early shift:-

Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.00pm (37.5 hours with a 30 minute meal break)

Late shift:-

Monday to Friday 2.00pm to 10.00pm (37.5 hours with a 30 minute meal break).

For each day worked on either of these shifts a shift payment will be made.
