Assembly Shop Supervisor

The Role

The successful applicant will be an experienced Supervisor in a production environment. Your role will be crucial in the management and continuous improvement of this busy assembly area of 20 plus people to achieve planned departmental goals relating to safety, quality and productivity. You will report directly to the works supervisor but will have regular interaction between all levels from shop floor to director.

Duties of the Assembly Shop Supervisor:

  • Lead a skilled team of individuals with responsibility for all aspects of production within the busy assembly area.
  • Plan, organise and delegate work assignments in order to best utilise man hours, skills and equipment.
  • Actively work to ensure efficient working practices are adhered to and maintained.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste of time and materials
  • Ensure all necessary action is taken to monitor and achieve on time delivery whilst maintaining efficiencies.
  • Ensure all build and test processes and relevant paperwork are completed accurately.
  • Ensure the accurate logging of productive/non-productive hours
  • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and improved
  • Achieve quality objectives by conforming to established quality procedures.

The Candidate:

  • Have strong man management experience to ensure the right structure and staffing is in place to ensure the smooth running of the assembly shop.
  • Solid background in engineering with hands on experience of manufacturing engineering / assembly.

Required Skills: 

  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer skills particularly Microsoft products
  • Ideally you will be apprenticeship trained with a solid background in engineering.

Production Planner 

The Role

The successful applicant will have experience in  production planning within a computerised planning system, focused around optimising efficiencies and performance in a manufacturing environment. You will need a working knowledge from an engineering point of view of medium to heavy process machinery and your background will be in supervising of individuals and processes utilising statistical analysis and modern manufacturing techniques.

Your role will be crucial in the management and continuous improvement of this in depth manufacturing process; therefore you will have regular interaction between all levels from manufacturing shop floor to director. Duties of the Production Planner:

  • Monitors backlog problems, work order flow, and bottleneck problems.
  • Maintains time and attendance system and production records to analyse departmental production performance.
  • Experienced in using an integrated ERP system, MRP, inventory management, cycle counting, and works order management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good human relation skills.
  • Liaise with production team leaders to maintain schedule status and resolve delivery date queries.

The Candidate:

  • Current working or has worked in a planning role within an SME.
  • Wants to join a company that you can make a genuine difference in.
  • Analytical, good attention to detail.
  • Confident to communicate clearly with all interfaces.
  • Can work on own initiative.

Required Qualification Level: 

The candidate will need to have A-Level grades and be computer literate (competent with the MS Windows, Office environments) with good communication skills - a quick learner, flexible & adaptable and an ‘eye for detail’.  Experienced in Manufacturing systems or have a degree or other relevant qualification such as ONC/HNC or equivalent in mechanical, production engineering.

Welder/Fabricator

We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator with a background in agricultural machinery to join our team

Job Requirements:

  • MIG welding.
  • TIG welding - useful but not essential.
  • Welding mild steel & stainless steel.
  • Welding steel of varying thickness from 1mm to 12mm.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings.
  • You will have your own transport due to where the company is based.

HOURS OF WORK  

Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm.                                                                 

Friday 8.00am to 3.30 pm.

There will be a ½ hour lunch break 12.30 to 1.00pm.

The working pattern may vary to meet business requirements, and applicants need to remain flexible to this fact. You will however be given at least one weeks’ notice of any changes. The shift patterns that may need to be adopted are as follows:-

Early shift:-

Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.00pm (37.5 hours with a 30 minute meal break).

Late shift:-

Monday to Friday 2.00pm to 10.00pm (37.5 hours with a 30 minute meal break).

For each day worked on either of these shifts a shift payment will be made.
